My name is Jon Jones, and I am a photographer.Now I’ve got that admission of guilt out of the way I can talk a little bit more about myself (because I have to, as this is how these interweb things work, not because I want to!) I have been interested in photography since I was nothing but a child. Unlike most people who turn to photography because of some desire to express themselves, my original motivation was to make sure it was me taking the pictures and not people taking photos of me. This manifested in my first SLR (A Minolta Dynax 3, followed by a Dynax 7). The myriad of buttons, and the ability to force everything into manual more or less guaranteed anyone trying to take a picture of me with them would get put off. My photographic tendencies were rekindled by the arrival of my nice shiny D-SLR (a lowly Canon EOS 400D). This started to allow more creativity (as all those “Creative” mistakes no longer cost me anything) and tendencies became almost obsessions.
